This is a superb and imposing piece of ancient pottery in Burnished Red Slip Ware. 4 decorative loops at the base of the neck above which incised decoration and typical pie crust ledge handles. Whereas there is a little surface loss of the red burnished slip and much of it is covered in a thing lime accretion (which wil eaily come off with dilute 10% HCL, it is other wise intact and unrestored and has only very moner nibbling on the rim. 228 mm Circa 3000 BC This type of pottery has been found at several Trans-Jordanian sites as well as in Israel. This one was found in Israel.
