Very large Bajaur Valley figurine A particularly fine, and the largest example I have seen, of this type of highly stylised anthropomorphic hollow wheel made figurine with applied facial features. These have been traditionally ascribed to the Bajaur Valley in Northern Pakistan in the sphere of influence of the early Harappan civilization during the so called Regionalisation Era (2800-2600 BC). For a discussion on Harappan figurines see: J.M. Kenoyer, Ancient Cities of the Indus Valley Civilization, 1998. Intact 320mm Bajaur Culture, 3000-2500 B.C Ex my own collection. Ex Australian collection Gary Dibley and acquired from an Australian antiquities dealer in 1998
