Extremely interesting Egyptian steatite plaque: could be unique. It bears an unusual inscription for the 'Commander of The Army of Ptah' which was one of the four armies of Ramesses at the great and famous battle of Kadesh against the Hittite king Muwatalli II in 1275 BC. It is for RoQen commander of the Army of Ptah, born of Hathor em Hat This is a possibly unique piece not attested anywhere else though there is a scarab shown in Petrie for a different man with the same title. Intact : very tiny damage one corner. Double pierced 16mm x 11mm x 4mm. Published by me and Pierre Tallet in Gottinger Miszelen in 2007 See scanned image of article which includes the full reading. Ex old French collection prior to being in my collection. 19th dynasty reign of Ramesses II
