A rather nice faience Osirian Triad amulet.
Made in pale blue faience, with nice detailing for this size depicting the Osirian triad: Nephthys, Horus, and Isis. The two flanking goddesses, Nephthys and Isis, stand either side of the young god, Horus: Isis being his mother and Nephthys being Isis’ sister. These are some of the main protagonists in the Osiride myth that tells the murder and revival of the god Osiris and the birth and triumphal avenge of his son Horus. According to this myth the sister goddesses Isis and Nepthys cared for the body of Osiris and later they protected his son Horus as a young child.
In perfect condition. 31mm x 22mm
Third Intermediate Period-Late Period, circa 900 BC – 500 BC
From my own collection.
