Attractive and unusual Chinese Neolithic pottery

This large, rather square pot is of very robust and thick and heavy fabric .

I find the painted decoration and the whole rather rustic feel of the pot, very attractive

150mm high.

An obvious repaired crack on one side but the pot might well be recomposed from several fragments: however joins, or possible joins have been covered over.

There is extensive repainting, mostly the black paint areas.
