Four Egyptian Tit amulets: in faience, lapis and a polished red stone. The very fine mottled red and black hard stone Tit amulet. Red is as prescribed in the Book of the Dead, though some were also made of green faience or glass. This one is very finely made with a suspension loop. The front has been carefully polished: the rear is unpolished. 22.5mm long. Difficult to date, could be New Kingdom or later. £295 The faience amulet lacks the tiny suspension loop at the bottom 16mm Late Period circa 500 BC £90 SOLD The two lapis amulets are unconventional in shape but must surely be meant to be Tit amulets. They are 21m and 22m. Intact Probably Late Period, circa 500 BC £275 each.
