A very nice example of a scarab for the early king Maaibre Sheshi. Intact 18mm 14th/15th dynasty Often described as the founder of the 15th dynasty but Ryholt places him in the 14th dynasty. It is actually not certain that the prenomen Maaibre belongs to this king: the two names have generally been linked because of the similarities between Maaibre and Sheshi scarabs. Was with Helios Gallery 2007. Ex Henry Wallace collection Henry Wallis (21 February 1830 20 December 1916) Was an English Pre-Raphaelite painter, writer and collector.
