A very attractive and large mottled deep apple-green faience amulet of the goddess Sekhmet seated on her thrown, holding the Wadj papyrus sceptre and a sistrum. On each side of the throne are pair of Nehabkaus which are rather better done than one usually sees where they are frequently somewhat stylised. See the photo to compare. Some damage/losses and parts of the colour faded somewhat but still a large and impressive amulet. The inside of the throne is hollow as is usually the case with this type. 50mm x 35mm Slight losses as seen. Egyptian, Third Intermediate Period circa 1000 BC.
