To either ENQUIRE or BUY a piece click the button you will see with each item. No impersonal 'shopping basket' system here. I prefer to do all this personally by email.
This is a very fine scaraboid/cowroid with a particularly good incised decorated back and support rings at either hole end; though as you can see, there is some damage at one end. The base is neatly incised with a pair of cartouches bearing the name of the king Tuthmose III : Men Kheper Re between protective wings. Intact other than the damage you can see. 17mm. Egyptian, possibly late New Kingdom but not likely to be contemporaneous with Tuthmose III: also possibly Late Period. Very difficult to decide. Ex Israeli collection.
