This very fine Roman bronze applique comes from a German collection where is was listed as being of the not well known Roman deity Meditrina who was involved with wine, health and longevity whose festival was on October 11th. I am however unsure if this attribution is correct. It's more likely a representation of Dionysus. It is a lovely and finely worked piece in good metal with a nice surface. 48mm. Roman, 2nd/3rd century. Ex German collection.
