These nicest Roman gold earrings I've seen in ages. Superb workmanship, especially the extemely fine gold granulation work. The beautifully formed rosette on the pendant contains a tiny garnet carbochon; rather chipped. The ancient method of "twist strip" manufacture of the gold wire is clearly evident in the oblique longitudinal creases you can see on the wire. Intact. 30mm Weight: 4.4g Roman, 2nd/3rd century.
