A RARE type on the market  these days! AND with interesting provenance. An exceptionally good scarab; one bearing a special good luck blessing.

It reads "The watchfulness of Amen-Re: life and protection".

This one is the same as No 9 shown in the relevant section in Daphna Ben-Tor.

It is in fine condition. 20 mm.

It comes from the American collection I have acquired much of, but clearly, from the card this one is attached to (with a Sasanian monogram stamp in the wax!) it came to that collection form a much older French collection.
